Thank you for your interest applying for an author session at the 2008 Festival.

To be considered for a session slot books must be:
a) Currently in-print
b) Available for wholesale purchase by our bookseller partner for re-sale at the Festival. This may include published and published on demand or self-published books. Author sessions on Saturday are free to the public; panels and select author sessions on Thursday and Friday are ticketed events. Sales of books at the sessions and in the Marketplace are a critical avenue for raising funds for the Festival’s producer and beneficiary, the Laura (Riding) Jackson Foundation. No books will be sold on consignment.

If those criteria are met, to be considered for the Festival please complete the attached application and any pertinent information on yourself or your book (e.g. press clippings, publisher information) along with actual book sample to:

How authors are selected to participate: The roster of authors chosen to participate will be selected based on genre, whether or not the proposed book has been presented before in the region and overall consumer appeal. The roster of selected authors will be announced by July 15, 2008. We are unable to pay honorariums or appearance fees.

The Book Festival has secured well over $80,000 in advertising and promotion to provide publishers and authors paying for author travel and accommodations with the assurance that their authors will receive significant media exposure to sell a lot of books.

Our Festival is intentionally planned in the same timeframe as the Sarasota Reading Festival and the Miami International Book Fair to allow publishers’ and authors to invest in one trip to Florida for appearances at three distinct events in markets that do not compete with each other.

Remember, Vero’s zip 32963 is among the top 5% of book buying zip codes in the nation!

Publisher Support

Please let us know of any marketing support that would be provided by your publisher such as production of book jacket blow-ups, reviews on your book, and other information we could include in our press kits.



Reviews, Articles, Portfolio Information

Please send an actual copy of the book along with reviews, articles and information you wish us to know when preparing marketing plans and press kits.

Travel Reimbursement Requirements





We regret we are unable to pay an appearance fee or honorarium. For some travel expense items we reimburse a per diem amount determined in advance.
